Surrey Street: CooperHomewood

Surrey Street comprised the construction of a modern student residence providing 254 bedrooms across multiple levels. The ground floor included student cluster kitchens and bedrooms, along with communal facilities such as a common room, main reception, and plant areas.

The first and second floors shared a consistent floor plate layout, while the fourth to sixth floors followed a similar arrangement of cluster kitchens and bedrooms. However, the roof structure stepped in progressively at each level, reducing the number of bedrooms per floor and creating a distinctive architectural profile.

Cooper Homewood were appointed to undertake the full design for the project, from RIBA Stage 2 concept design through to RIBA Stage 4 detailed design.
